We’re proud to be publicly announcing our Thesis Skin Manager add-on for Thesis 1.7+ that allows Thesis developers to package their skins in a very easy to install format.
Best of all we’re releasing it for free and we’re encouraging other Thesis developers to use it with their own skins and client customizations.
The majority of the skins here already support this new install method with more to come in the near future.
To get an idea of how it works watch the short video by clicking the image below:
Although the obvious use of this tool is for skin developers to release their free / paid skins it’s also a great way for Thesis developers to deliver their Thesis customizations to their clients at the end of a project!

Mark & Matt, Any tool that makes managing options sexier and a click easier is always welcome, /r Scotty
I love being involved with you guys. Great work, and way to put the needs of the community first.
Mark & Matt – This looks like very cool, thanks for releasing it. I’ll be working this into my skins in future.
Thanks guys!
this look to be very awesome……. Thanks for the tool
Mark, very nice addition to the Thesis community. For developers doing client work, this little add-on will be very nice, as well as for premium theme developers. Perhaps this should be integrated into the Thesis core … I would try to reach out to Chris and see what happens. Great job!
Mark & Matt, Populated a new domain with all of the tt “skins ready” skins. Looking forward to adding the tt premium skins – any idea when they will be updated? /r Scotty
I need clarification about the directory structure under custom for thesis play. The video says “we have already uploaded the skins” which is the part I’m having trouble with. In plain english, what files go where?
- Scotty Most of the premium skins are supported now as well – not sure about Osmotic or Blogussion yet though – check their forum areas for more info.
- Dave The video was more just an overview, detailed installation instructions are here http://thesisthemes.com/thesis-skin-manager/ – I’ll be uploading a full installation video on that page as well in the coming days.
